The steel grade decides how long your blade keeps its edge and how it behaves on your board. We stock three grades and machine all of them to the same tolerance — the right choice depends on your board type, line speed and how often you can afford to stop for a blade change.

Choose SKD11
58–60 HRC · medium cost
The default for most corrugated box plants. The best balance of wear resistance and price, and it handles the full range of single, double and triple-wall board without fuss.
Choose D2
58–62 HRC · medium-high cost
When abrasive recycled board and long production runs dominate. Its higher carbide content gives the longest edge retention, though it is slightly less forgiving of shock loading.
Choose HSS-M2
62–65 HRC · high cost
For thin board, high-speed lines, or machines where blades take impact. The highest toughness keeps the cutting edge from chipping, at a higher material cost.
